Flo Lagos
Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 September 2026
FLO Lagos respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We have kept this policy short and readable. Where we are legally required to be more detailed, we would rather tell you plainly than bury it.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information only where you choose to give it to us, or where the ordinary mechanics of running a website require it.
Information you give us
When you submit a reservation request we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, telephone number, number of guests, preferred date and time, the occasion if you choose to share it, your seating preference, and any allergies, dietary requirements or other requests you include.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records requests to the site, including your IP address, the page requested, the referring page, and the browser and device used. This is standard and is used to keep the site secure and to diagnose faults.
- Cookies. WordPress may set cookies required for the site to function, such as the cookie that remembers your comment or login state. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. Why We Use It
We process your information on the following basis:
- To perform our contract with you. Most of what we collect through the reservation form is needed to seat you and to contact you about that booking.
- For our legitimate business interests. We keep a record of bookings so we can manage the dining room, honour special requests you have told us about, and plan capacity. We also keep server logs to protect the site.
- For legal obligations. Where the law requires us to retain certain records, we do.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
3. How Reservation Requests Are Handled
When you submit a reservation request, we validate it on our server and then:
- store the request in our WordPress database as a private record, visible only to our staff;
- email the request to the restaurant so that our team can action it;
- email you a confirmation that we have received it.
Our form includes a spam filter. If a submission appears to come from an automated program, we may discard it without notice.
4. How Long We Keep It
Reservation records are kept for as long as we need them to run the restaurant and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted.
Allergies and dietary requirements
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement, we keep a note of it so that our kitchen can accommodate you on future visits. You can ask us to remove this information at any time, though we may then be unable to accommodate you as reliably.
Server logs are rotated and deleted on a short cycle, typically within a few weeks.
5. Who We Share It With
We share your information only with the people who need it in order to serve you:
- Our restaurant staff, who use it to manage your booking and prepare for your visit.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site’s data on our behalf. [Name of hosting provider]
- Our email provider, which delivers the messages we send you. [Name of email provider]
- Government or law-enforcement authorities, where we are legally required to disclose it.
We do not share your booking details with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies that the site needs to work. We do not run advertising networks, and we do not embed third-party advertising or social tracking pixels.
Fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google’s servers see your IP address when the page loads. [If you would prefer to avoid this, we can self-host the fonts — tell us and we will.]
7. Security
Reservation details are sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a private area of our database, accessible only to staff. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim ours is, but we treat your booking details as confidential and limit access to the people who need it.
8. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and applicable regulations, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete your information where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
- object to how we use your information, and to marketing you have not consented to;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you believe we have handled your information improperly.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on this page. We will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for making a request.
9. Children
This site and its reservation service are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and a reservation should be made by an adult who is able to enter into a contract with us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests regarding your information, can be sent to us using the details on this page.
